Since childhood, Elger has been fascinated with old postcards from all over the world and his photographs exude the same tranquility and romantic spirit of the 19th century postcards that have served as inspiration for him. Elger expressed that his landscapes and vedutas "describe something that exists beyond everyday life." His photographs often capture the viewer's attention as if they were memories.
